About TradeStation

TradeStation started in 1982 as Omega Research, a company that made software for traders who wanted to design and test their own strategies. It later added brokerage services, and since 2011 it has been owned by Monex Group of Japan. The company is based in Plantation, Florida. It clears its own stock, options and most futures trades, holds its own memberships at the NYSE and CME Group, and says it does not trade for its own account.

TradeStation offers stocks, ETFs, options, futures and futures options. Its platforms are TITAN X, a new multi-asset platform for Windows and Mac; the flagship TradeStation desktop software, which lets you code your own strategies and indicators; a web trading platform; mobile apps; and FuturesPlus for futures options. Stock and ETF trades are $0 commission. Options and futures are priced per contract, with lower rates for higher monthly volume.

What sets TradeStation apart is strategy development. You can back-test ideas against decades of historical market data, automate them, and connect to the account through third-party tools such as TradingView. It has also released an integration that links your account to AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. It is aimed squarely at active traders: mutual funds and bonds are available but carry transaction fees, and there is a $10 monthly inactivity fee for accounts that do not meet a minimum level of activity.
