About SogoTrade

SogoTrade says it has served investors since 1986. The online brokerage launched in 2006 under the name SogoInvest, built by Genesis Securities, and was renamed SogoTrade in 2008. It is a FINRA and SIPC member, clears through Apex Clearing, and runs a Chinese-language version of its site alongside the English one.

Stocks, ETFs and options trade online, and crypto is available through Bakkt with 33 coins supported. Mutual funds and bonds are handled by phone as broker-assisted orders. The platforms are SogoTrade Pro for mobile, a web trading platform, and SogoOptions for options traders. Stock limit orders of 100 shares or more are $0, market orders and smaller orders are $2.88, options are $0 plus $0.50 per contract, and crypto costs 1% of the trade with a $1 minimum.

The unusual feature is Get Paid to Trade, which credits your account $1.00 per 1,000 shares on qualified limit orders instead of charging you. SogoTrade also offers managed accounts through SogoTrade Asset Management, including PowerYield Portfolios, which aim to produce monthly income from stocks that are not usually thought of as dividend payers. Transfers of $10,000 or more from another broker can have up to $100 in transfer fees reimbursed.

For people who are new to stock or investing, it’s a good place to start.

The webiste is easy to use and navigate and the support staff is very helpful.

For more seasoned traders, they might not have all the features as other online brokers, but I was told they will have it implemented in the coming months.

Overall, I think this webiste have good potential to become a serious competitor for online trading.

I agree J. I feel very comfortable with their service. I also see they have a blog now. It is nice to see they will be interacting with the customer directly. It should have a lot of traffic.

after using zecco for 3 months, i hate their services deeply becuz its such a reap off–now i switch to sogo and am a happy camper!!
